Borys Bakay is Head of the Department of Forest Engineering at the Ukrainian National Forestry University (UNFU) in Lviv. He did five years graduate program in Forest Engineering (Honors) and was recruited at Lviv Forestry Institute in 1989 as a research engineer and focused on the creation of machines and equipment for the forest industry. He did a three years postdoctoral degree and obtained his PhD in Engineering.
He has extensive experience in practical work and business management.
At the Ukrainian National Forestry University, he is Program Director of Forest Engineering and Industrial Engineering, teaches Harvesting Technology, Forest Operations and Mechanization, Life cycle assessment, Research Methodology. He is the author of more than 150 scientific articles and patents. He has made relevant contributions in the development of new technology for warehouses of factories and log sort yards, which may use special loading machines. He has more than 30 years of teaching and research experience.
