Effect of Estradiol valerate applied with immersion method on the growth and sex reversal of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss, W.,1792)
Abstract
ln this research, the effect of estradiol valerate applied with immersion was researched on the growth and sex reversal of rainbow trout (O. mykiss). This study was carried out for total 140 days. The prelarval rainbow trout were immersed into estradiol valerate (E2V) solution (400µg/I), for 2 hours, 2 times a week and throughout 4 weeks. At the end of the study, the weight of fish was found as average 9.31±0.53 for the E2V applied group and 11.29±0.76 for the control group (P>0.05). The condition factors of fish were found as 1.49±0.02 for the E2V applied group and 1.54±0.02 for the control group (P>0.05); the food conversion rates were calcufated as 1.32 for the E2V applied group and 0.99 for the control group. The survival rates of fish were found as 71% for the E2V applied group, 90.1% for the control group. While the female ratio in the E2V group was determinated as 100%, that of the control group was 45%. At the end of the research, although the positive results were obtained in the production of ali female populations in rainbow trout, there was no significant difference in the growth and the survival rate of fish decreased. Therefore, it is vital to realize more detailed studies before the application of oestradiol valerate in commercial aquaculture

Daldırma Metoduyla Uygulanan Estradiol Valerat'ın Gökkuşağı Alabalığında (Oncorhynchus mykiss, W., 1792) Büyüme ve Cinsiyet Değişimi Üzerine Etkisi
Abstract
Bu çalışmada; daldırma metoduyla uygulanan, estradiol valerat'ın (E2V), gökkuşağı alabalığında (Oncorhynchus mykiss), büyüme ve cinsiyet değişimi üzerine etkisi araştırılmıştır. Çalışma 5 periyotta ve toplam 140 gün sürmüştür. Yumurtadan yeni çıkmış gökkuşağı alabalığı prelarvaları 400µg/l oranındaki E2V solüsyonuna 4 hafta boyunca, haftada 2 kez ve 2 saat süreyle daldırılmıştır. Çalışma sonunda; uygulama grubunun (E2V) ortalama ağırlığı 9.31±0.53, kontrol grubunun (K) ortalama ağırlığı ise 11.29±0.76 (P>0,05) olarak bulunmuştur. Kondisyon faktörü 1,49±0,02 (E2V), 1,54±0,02 (K) (P>0,05); yem değerlendirme katsayısı 1,32 (E2V), 0,99 (K) olarak hesaplanmıştır. Yaşama oranı ise %71 (E2V), %90, 1 (K) şeklinde bulunmuştur. E2V uygulanan grupta dişi bireylerin oranı o/o 100, kontrol grubunda ise %45 olarak tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma neticesinde; daldırma metoduyla uygulanan estradiol valerat'ın, gökkuşağı alabalığı yavrularının büyümesini etkilemediği, yaşama oranını olumsuz yönde etkilediği, cinsiyetin dişileştirilmesinde ise etkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Uygulamanın ticari üretime aktarılmadan önce daha detaylı araştırmalar yapılması önemlidir.
